Amanda Tangney is a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Amanda has effectively worked with individuals dealing with a variety of stressors, including depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, crisis intervention, and LGBTQ-related experiences. She has also worked with children, parents, and families who experience difficulties at home and at school related to attention deficit disorders, oppositional behaviors, and social skill issues.
Amanda has worked in office-based and in-home settings to help individuals and families reach their goals. Amanda has years of experience working within public school systems to help parents advocate for interventions to their children’s education plans to help foster growth. Amanda also has Connecticut credentialing in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
Amanda is known for her nonjudgmental and compassionate perspective, which comes from her strength-based approach to helping clients. Amanda believes that her role as a therapist is to collaborate with each individual to understand their unique stressors, develop healthy coping strategies, and make positive changes to their day-to-day lives in order to reach their full potential.
