Diane Bender, M.Ed is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 25 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults experiencing Depression, Mood Disorders, Generalized Anxiety, Phobias, PTSD, OCD, Adjustment Disorders, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, ADD/ADHD, Gay and Lesbian Issues, Life Transitions, Divorce & Separation, and Grief & Loss. Diane has extensive clinical experience working within a hospital emergency room where she provided assessment and evaluations as well as follow-up services for inpatient hospitalization, partial hospital programs and/or outpatient services for patients.
Diane has worked the last 12 years at a non-profit multi-specialty group with 275 providers in 57 practices spread throughout the State of New Hampshire where she comes highly recommended by medical professionals. She has conducted seminar presentations and co-taught graduate level Group Counseling courses. Diane coordinates with schools, social services, court systems and medical personnel in order to plan, identify and implement highly effective services for clients. Diane’s specialties include family treatment with an emphasis on Child Play Therapy.
Diane recently relocated to Connecticut to be closer to her children and grandchildren and to continue providing effective therapeutic services to her clients. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction exercises within her sessions.
