Kara Boles is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist with extensive experience working with children, adolescents and adults. Kara has worked with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, trauma, attention deficit disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiance and autism spectrum disorder. She utilizes a strength based person centered approach and is skilled in cognitive behavior therapy and is trauma informed.
Kara has worked with children as young as three years of age in a therapeutic child center providing treatment for trauma, communication skill development and social skills training. She is trained in play therapy which is a developmental approach based on developmental principles. Play therapy is a process in which the child chooses objects, symbols or different types of play to express themselves and work through conflict. Kara is a skilled child therapist in interpreting and child’s play and assists the child in promoting growth and change.
Kara is certified as a Circle of Security Parenting educator and has provided psycho-educational parenting classes. She has exceptional experience with assisting parents with behavioral interventions for their child and creative parenting styles with the goal of improving families.
