Luisa Noujaim is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience providing psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, young and older adults. She has expertise working with clients who are experiencing anxiety, mood and personality disorders, substance abuse, trauma and trauma related issues. She also works with clients who are court ordered to receive services by the Department of Corrections and/or the Department of Children and Families. Luisa has extensive experience working with couples in the areas of parenting and/or in matters of divorce and separation.
Luisa specializes in working with clients who are the victims and perpetrators of domestic violence. She also works with clients from the Gay, Lesbian and Transgender community as well as the elderly population. She has experience working with refugees by assisting them with acculturation, abandonment and grief issues. Luisa currently provides outpatient services but has worked in detox and intensive settings as well.
Luisa has an outgoing personality and understands the role that empathy and inclusion play in successfully engaging clients. Her approach is strengths-based and she is committed to providing the best quality services to her clients in a culturally competent, linguistically appropriate manner. Luisa is fluent in 4 languages including English, Spanish, Arabic and French.
