Melynda Ganesh is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 12 years of mental health experience in various settings such as psychiatric hospitals, prisons, in home services and outpatient community based programs. Melynda completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Connecticut and finished her master’s level degree at SCSU in clinical mental health counseling.
Melynda has worked with various populations including child and adolescent, adult and aging populations. She has extensive experience working with the child and adolescent populations while working with the DCF population for 4 years.
Melynda has experience working with clinical issues such as mood disorders, grief and bereavement, parenting skills, anger management, substance abuse and addiction, self-esteem, anxiety and personality disorders. She has a strength based, solution focused view on the therapeutic process and views treatment as holistic. She incorporates CBT and DBT skills to enable clients with additional coping skills and stress management techniques.
Melynda is passionate about empowering her clients in the therapeutic process and does so with positivity, compassion, empathic listening and a warm smile. She believes in creating a warm, non-judgmental and open space for clients to nurture a positive therapeutic relationship. She enjoys traveling, being outdoors and spending time with her family and friends.
