Sandra Summer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 12 years of experience specializing in therapeutic intervention with diverse populations in Connecticut. She has experience working with individuals, families and youth who are dealing with difficult emotions, major life changes and loss. Sandra has a great desire to assist these individuals who may be dealing with court mandates, LGBT, trauma, anger management, domestic violence, substance abuse, sexual abuse, behavioral issues, ADHD and grief and loss of loved ones.
Sandra’s goal is to provide a new perspective to assist individuals and families to manage issues that impact mental health needs, mind and body connections and learning healthy coping skills to improve quality of life. She uses multiple therapy models in combination with a holistic approach to address the importance of change and balance in order to break the stigma of mental health services. Sandra practices auricular acupuncture techniques to assist in addiction recovery and to ease anxiety, stress and pain. She is also trained in EMDR therapy. Sandra encourages individuals to share experiences that work for them as she continues to incorporate new skills that offer support. Through her work she inspires individuals to seek healthy relationships, increase happiness, ease emotional pain, reduce anxiety and depression and reduce stress.
Sandra holds a membership with the National Association of Social Workers.
