Sonja Blasko is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor who has extensive experience providing individual, couples, family and group counseling to adults in inpatient and outpatient settings for many different disorders. She has worked with adults involved in the court system through probation and parole.
Sonja works with those struggling with mood disorders, anxiety, substance use, trauma, grief and loss and other life stressors. She implements a holistic approach and provides a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere where a person can learn how to manage their emotions and build skills to live a fulfilling life.
Sonja specializes in treating individuals who are struggling with addiction by utilizing a twelve step approach and harm reduction psychotherapy. She strongly believes that a person’s resilience and courage will assist in facilitating change.
Through a caring and empathetic relationship, Sonja believes collaboration in a supportive and nonjudgmental atmosphere is the basis for exploring and resolving personal and relational problems.
Sonja demonstrates a broad-minded approach, flexibility and understanding for people from different socio-economic, cultural and educational backgrounds. She is fluent in 4 languages including English, Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian.
