Licensed Professional Counselor
Ethan Parker is a licensed professional counselor who has been working in the field of behavioral and mental health for over 9 years, and he has experience working with teenagers, adults, couples and families. During these years, he has worked in a variety of settings including behavioral health clinics, substance abuse treatment centers, veteran’s hospital and private practice settings. These work environments have allowed him to learn effective skills in working with a wide variety of challenges clients may encounter such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, anger management and substance abuse. Ethan has engaged in continued training to remain up to date with the most effective modalities focusing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, multi-cultural competency, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, and meditation practices.
In sessions, Ethan works to employ person-centered therapy with unconditional positive regard to build rapport and trust with the client, supporting and validating the client while also challenging them to seek new perspectives and learn to apply healthy coping skills in their journey of self-improvement and self-actualization. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, along with many other treatment modalities, is utilized to teach the client how to challenge the thoughts that are increasing distress, and create a mindset and focus that helps them to achieve their goals.
