Amanda Sperandio, LMFT
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist I Site Lead, Thomaston & Middlebury Office
Amanda Sperandio is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has been working in the field of behavioral and mental health for over 10 years. As a family therapist, Amanda knows the importance of examining life’s challenges through a systemic perspective, meaning she looks at the impact of society, family, and support systems on an individual, not only the individual in isolation. She has experience working with individuals of all ages (children, teenagers, and adults), as well as couples, and families. Throughout her years of practice, Amanda has worked in a variety of settings including in-home, behavioral health clinics, substance abuse treatment centers (both inpatient and outpatient), and private practice. She believes in focusing on ones’ strengths to help overcome life’s challenges and exploring new ways of looking at a problem in order to find more effective solutions.
Amanda has a passion for helping people who may be struggling with life’s transitions, coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, and/or substance abuse to achieve their goals using a variety of treatment modalities. Amanda has a special interest in working with individuals who are struggling to manage a relationship with challenging family members, partners, or friends. She also enjoys exploring overall wellness, including the benefits of maintaining a healthy body through exercise and proper nutrition, which can have a major impact on mental health. Amanda uses a person-centered approach to provide a warm, supportive, judgment-free environment to allow for open exploration of one’s goals and to help identify ways to for one to function at the optimal level.
