Katherine Bell, PsyD
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Katie (she/her) is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of helping clients to identify and achieve their therapeutic goals, including extensive experience working with youth and families. She is a proud member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community with training in writing letters of support for gender affirming care. She takes an Anti-Racist Intersectional Feminist approach to understanding the systems that negatively impact people who experience stress and distress resulting from the way society responds to their identities with the clear understanding that those identities are not a problem. She practices cultural humility, believes in a Health at Every Size framework to wellness, celebrates the broad spectrum of neurodiversity, and is affirming of ethically non-monogamous approaches to relationship systems.
Katie uses an integrative model in counseling targeted to clients’ specific goals. This can include supporting clients in solution-focused, skills-based approaches from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy as well as holding space for individuals who want to take a more dynamic approach to understanding their relationship patterns, attachment style, and ways to build earned secure attachment with themselves and others in their lives.
Katie believes in the importance and power of play and intentional community. She enjoys spending her free time making room for silliness, fun, and joy with the important people in her life (and her many cats) including hiking, outdoor adventures, general nerdery and geekdom, embracing a beginner’s mindset to trying new things, eating delicious food, and adding to her shiny rock collection (and her far too big “To Be Read” pile of books).
