Sarah O'Brien, LCSW

Sarah is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has experience working with teenagers through adults. Sarah received her Master’s of Social Work with honors from Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service. She specializes in working with those experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, difficulties with self-esteem, trauma, and life transitions. Sarah utilizes an eclectic approach encompassing a variety of interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She is also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Sarah employs a strengths-based and client-centered approach. Further, she uses a trauma-informed and culturally-competent lens.

Sarah is passionate about the therapeutic relationship and the value it holds in client growth. She believes that human connections and the provision of a safe space are pillars for change and healing. Sarah uses empathy and warmth when engaging with clients. She believes that the client is the expert on their needs, desires, and goals.
