Jacqueline Arroyo, LADC

Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor

Jacqueline Arroyo is a Bilingual-Bicultural (Spanish) Masters Level Clinician and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) with over 25 years of experience in the substance abuse and mental health fields. Her experience involves working with adolescents and their families in a variety of settings including outpatient, intensive outpatient and short term respite facilities for adolescent girls. In addition, she worked with individuals involved with the Department of Corrections in a residential setting. Jacqueline also worked for many years as an HIV/AIDS Outreach Educator for the City of Waterbury where she provided services in community settings such as soup kitchens, housing projects, criminal justice agencies and health care facilities. She executes individual, family and group therapeutic sessions both in the office and in-home.

Jacqueline previously managed an intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment program as well as a federally funded mentoring program for adolescents. She currently manages a DCF funded evidenced based outpatient substance abuse treatment program for adolescents. She utilizes a combination of clinic and community based services depending on the unique needs of the adolescents and their families. Jacqueline utilizes a strengths-based approach and is skilled in therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Motivation Enhancement Therapy and Stages of Change Model. She believes in forming a strong therapeutic alliance with her clients from the very first time they meet. Jacqueline is multi-culturally sensitive and very passionate about impacting positive change in the lives of the people with whom she works.
