Nancy Hernandez is a Bilingual-Bicultural (Spanish) Masters Level Clinician with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. Nancy received her Bachelor’s degree in social work from Southern Connecticut State University and her Master’s degree in clinical social work with a concentration on children and families from Southern Connecticut State University.
She has experience working in a variety of settings including, school social worker, outpatient clinical child and adolescent services, in addition to long term and short-term geriatric facilities providing services to youth and adult populations struggling with mental health challenges such as stress management, peer conflict, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and behavioral issues; assisting parents in enhancing their effectiveness in guiding their children.
Nancy enjoys working together with the client as she establishes goals and the healthiest approaches to be applied to present concerns and/or future ones. She utilizes a strengths-based approach to build a positive environment through compassion without judgment. Her therapeutic style includes a variety of treatment modalities including CBT, mindfulness, meditation practices, and play therapy.
